  • 🛠️ Application Instructions

    • Prepare clean, bare wood (remove dirt, mildew, or old finishes).

    • Stir product thoroughly before and during use.

    • Apply two coats wet-on-damp using brush, pad, or sprayer.

    • Coat from the bottom up on vertical surfaces; saturate end grains for maximum protection.

    • Allow 24 hours for full cure before heavy exposure.

🔆 Instructions for Using Tint with Clear Exterior Wood Oil

    • Mixing the Tint

      • Add tint into the clear base before application.

      • Recommended Ratio: 1/2 pint of tint to 1 gallon of clear base.

      • Stir thoroughly until fully blended — pigment must be evenly dispersed to avoid streaks.

    • Surface Preparation

      • Ensure wood is clean, dry, and free of dust, oils, or old finishes.

      • Sand lightly if the surface feels rough.

    • Application

      • Apply with a brush, roller, or sprayer in thin, even coats.

      • Always work the oil into the grain for deep penetration.

      • Maintain a wet edge to prevent lap marks (streaks).

    • Number of Coats

      • Usually 2 coats outdoors for durability.

      • Allow the first coat to penetrate and dry before applying the second (30-60 mins).

    • Stirring During Use

      • Keep stirring the mixture periodically during application — pigments can settle at the bottom of the can.

🌲 Why Tint is Better Than Clear

    • Tint pigments block UV light, protecting wood from graying.

    • Clear only = beautiful at first, but requires more frequent reapplication outdoors.

    • Tinted = longer-lasting protection, less maintenance.
