How to Use Sauna Shield Sauna Wood Oil

To maintain the beauty, cleanliness, and longevity of your sauna, we recommend treating your benches and other wooden surfaces with Sauna Shield Sauna Wood Oil. Follow these simple steps for the best results:
Preparation

-
Clean the Wood
Make sure your sauna bench or wooden surface is thoroughly cleaned. Remove any dirt or residue and allow the surface to dry completely before applying the oil. -
Sand if Necessary
If the wood is stained, darkened, or heavily used, lightly sand the surface to restore its natural look before treatment.
Application Conditions

-
Apply only in dry conditions:
-
Humidity: Below 80%
-
Temperature: At least 5ºC (41ºF)
-
-
For optimal results, heat the sauna to approximately 50ºC (122ºF) before starting the treatment.
Applying the Oil

-
Use a lint-free cloth or sponge to apply Sauna Shield Sauna Wood Oil evenly onto the untreated wood surface. Freely apply the oil inside infrared saunas. Keep the oil further away from the wooden surfaces that are closest to the heater inside of traditional saunas with stove heaters.
-
Let the oil absorb into the wood. If the wood quickly soaks up all the oil, apply a second coat.
-
After application, wipe off any excess oil from the surface to prevent stickiness.

Clean-Up & Disposal

-
Used sponges or cloths can be rinsed with water or thrown away with regular household waste. They are not self-igniting.
Empty bottles can also be disposed of in regular household waste.
